Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) enrollment is from January 22 - February 2

UTK is a full day program offered to all students with birthdates between 09/02/19 - 09/01/20 (turning 4 by 9/1/24) who are San Diego Unified District residents.

If you are interested in UTK for the 2024-25 school year you will need to first enroll in your neighborhood school.  BEFORE continuing please click this link to use School Finder to verify your home address.  If Sunset View is not your neighborhood school please locate the website for your neighborhood school to determine their enrollment procedures or go to your neighborhood school's office for enrollment information.

Sunset View is expected to have 3 UTK classes with 68 total students next year.  The priority for acceptance is based on the child's date of birth with children on the older side of the UTK age window having higher priority.  Parents will be notified about their child's acceptance starting the week of February 12th.

If your child resides within the Sunset View boundaries please complete the forms below and submit the requested documents, one set per child, for review:

  • Enrollment Forms - English | Spanish
  • Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Up-to-date Immunizations based on your child's age. We may require additional immunization records before the start of the school year based on your child's age and the District requirements. UTK students must meet these requirements within 30 days of their 4th birthday:
