Classroom Time in the Library
Once the Library opens for the school year students are able to visit the library once per week. UTK and kindergartners can check out one print book at a time and keep their books at school in the classrooms. 1st through 4th graders can check out two print books at a time and are able to bring their books home. Students must return their current print books before checking out new books. Print books are due to the Library on the classroom's Library Day. Classroom Library time ends before the last day of school to allow students to return all books before the school year ends.
Students and parents/guardians can access the Library's online catalog and Virtual Learning site on the Destiny platform called . Students must be logged in to Sandi.net in order to access the Virtual Learning Library Site also. Students can checkout eBooks and read them them on their devices in addition to the print books they've checked out from the Library.
Know What You Owe!
If a print book is not returned the student and/or parent/guardian is responsible for paying full price in order to replace the lost item. Also, if devices are rendered non-operational a fine may be assessed as well.
You and your child can login to the District's Destiny platform website to determine what books and equipment the child has checked out. Fines can be paid directly to the Library Assistant. Or the payment can be given to school's office staff if you have the Destiny printout detailing the amount to be paid. You will receive a receipt showing the fine was paid. If the book is found within a year of paying the fine we will attempt to return the fee to the adult who paid the fee or issued the check if applicable.
